On July 28, 2008, Ken Hahn, one of two system administrators for a distributed computing facility in the Computer Sciences and Statistics building at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, displays a T-shirt with the phrase "Please remain calm." Hahn is responsible for maintaining an enclosed bank of distributed computing equipment that includes 1,100 CPU cores and nearly 400 terabytes of disk space, all connected directly to the backbone of the campus network.
